The Vehicle Dynamics Facility consists of 1200 foot x 1000 foot rectangular asphalt test surface with asphalt paved loops at the east and west ends to accommodate the acceleration and deceleration of vehicles as they enter and leave the dynamics test surface. The outer perimeter is 14,319 feet long at the centerline with corners banked for 70 mph with zero side thrust. The south side of the perimeter oval is 4 lanes wide with minimal cross slope. The north side of the perimeter oval is three lanes wide with 2% cross slope on the outer lanes and zero cross slope in the center lane. A semi-circular steering rack rattle course is located near the northeast end of the perimeter oval. The facility covers approximately 27 acres and is essentially flat with a 1% slope for water runoff.
